The tech scale-up Airtame raises 18,5 million DKK in an investment round from Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund and PreSeed Ventures to support digital transformation and expansion to global markets.

Airtame is a leading all-in-one solution for shared screens in business and education, challenging the norms in the AV industry with a newly introduced hardware-enabled SaaS platform. Airtame was founded in 2013 to make meeting rooms, classrooms, and common spaces more dynamic through intuitive screen sharing, digital signage, and now hybrid conferencing.

Easy access to screen technology for everyone

Airtame is particularly popular in the American market, where many companies and schools trust its user-friendly solutions to solve their shared screen needs. In 2020, COVID-19 changed how people communicate and collaborate with each other. Since then, Airtame has invested in the development of and reimagining several products that will make it even easier to accommodate hybrid work, including a remote management software.

Since their founding, Airtame has been pioneering technology that some giants like Apple and Google are today fighting to provide, making easy access to screen technology for everyone, and now they are ready to focus further on targeting the European and American business sector more aggressively, which holds great potential.

Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund support the digital working place of the future

Six months ago, Airtame appointed Susanne Lund as their new CEO, as part of a strategy to focus on and expand the company’s software business beyond hardware.

Airtame raised 19 million DKK in an investment round from existing investors including Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund and PreSeed Ventures. Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund is the result of a merger of EKF Denmark’s Export Credit Agency (EKF), the sovereign investment fund of Denmark, Vaekstfonden and the Danish Green Investment Fund. The fund is already an investor in Airtame, making the new investment a follow-up, emphasizing the massive potential that the fund sees in Airtaime’s technology.

“Digital transformation isn’t cheap nor particularly easy but this new investment holds a clear opportunity to expand by focusing on end users’ outcome, and to break barriers by proactively delivering a solution that is forward thinking in our market. Two thousand Airtame client organizations have already adopted the platform, just months after its first release. We are happy that both Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund and PreSeed Ventures acknowledge the potential of this digital transformation as a software company, and we are excited to expand our go-to-market globally,” says Susanne Lund.

”In Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund, we wish to support the digital working place of the future. Airtame is a strong, Danish business, which has positioned itself as a leader within the market in the United States. As the only player globally, the solution developed by Airtame supports multiple conference system solutions – an important competition measure, as businesses today host meetings via both Teams, Zoom, and other conference solutions. We work to develop and support the position of strength held in Denmark within tech today, and as a larger Danish tech-business with a leading position within the market, Airtame is a very good example of this exact position of strength. Therefore, we in Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund would like to aid Airtame in their continuation in growth in both existing and new markets,” says Jakob Bratting, Partner in Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund.

“Airtame is a thriving business with positive growth numbers, and now introduces a new SaaS business model with PreSeed Ventures onboard. Airtame is no new name in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, but their latest moves within business strategy has set them apart from the rest, and we are thrilled to continue to be a part of their exciting journey, as Airtame is heading in a really exciting direction,” says Mads Klarskov, Chief Commercial Officer at PreSeed Ventures.
